Fresh onboarding, richer subtask tables, and more
Vaiz 2.88 brings a redesigned first-run experience, inline editing for subtasks and milestone tasks, and fixes across Slack integration, and everyday workflows.
Onboarding redesigned from the ground up
New teams get a cleaner step-by-step setup: set your name, name your workspace, invite teammates from a single email field, and optionally book a demo call. You can move back through steps without losing what you entered, and a new completion screen marks the end of setup. Visual design across every onboarding block was refreshed to match current Vaiz patterns.
Edit subtasks and milestone tasks without opening each card
Subtask tables on task cards and task lists on milestone cards now support inline editing for assignee, priority, types, due dates, milestones, and many custom fields. Row layout, due date display, and linked-task badges were tightened so the tables read more clearly and stay in sync with the rest of the task card.
Clearer connection status and action feedback
The header connection indicator now shows a Connecting state while the app is still establishing a live connection, so a normal page load no longer flashes as disconnected. Confirmations and errors for actions you take yourself (archive, delete, copy link, and similar) now appear as toast messages instead of mixing into the notification center reserved for activity from other people.
Bug fixes and improvements
- Task navigation after delete. Forward and back navigation still works after you delete a task, so you can keep moving through neighboring tasks.
- Deleted task mentions. Clicking a mention of a deleted task in a document now opens a proper “task not found” state instead of a blank panel.
- Automation creation. The “Add automation” button stays at the top of the list, so it remains reachable even when a board has many rules.
- Select custom fields. Dropdowns for select fields cap list height and scroll internally, so long option lists no longer stretch the whole interface.
- List view scroll. Horizontal scrolling is restored when a list table is wider than the viewport.
- Slack task creation. Project and board pickers in Slack now show only projects and boards you can access in Vaiz.
- Code blocks in the editor. Selecting text inside a code block brings up the formatting toolbar again, with options that make sense for code.
- Subscription updates. Billing screens update when subscription details change, with clearer grace-period messaging in the plan modal.
- Document tree on touch devices. Expand/collapse controls stay visible on phones and tablets, so you no longer need a hover state to open nested documents.
- Board settings. The main Board Settings screen now matches the layout of other settings pages.
- Document Details blocks. Expanding or collapsing a Details block is local to your session and no longer writes to document history for everyone.
- Affiliate menu. The Affiliate entry is back in the user menu in the header, including on mobile.
- Various polish across onboarding, task cards, billing, integrations, and settings.
