Smart List arrives, a Time Log for tracked hours, and sharing by link

Vaiz 2.96 brings Smart List, a query-driven task list, to every board, adds a Time Log with billable hours, lets you share tasks and documents with anyone by link, and adds Sign in with Apple.

Smart List: your task list, written as a query

Smart List is a new way to work with tasks inside a board. Instead of clicking through filter menus, you describe the list you want in a single query line: which columns to show and in what order, how to sort, what to filter by, and how to group. Filters work across system and custom fields and combine naturally, so priority:high with an assignee and a due date is one short line. Group by priority, assignee, status, or date, with smart date buckets for Today, Overdue, Upcoming, and Unplanned.

The list is fully live. Edit any field inline with the same validation as in the task card, and see changes from teammates appear instantly, no refresh needed. Column widths are saved per user, and you can keep several Smart Lists on one board, each with its own query. Picking related tasks and blockers now happens through a multi-select picker as well.

A Time Log for your team's hours

Time tracking gains a Time Log: a single table for a board or project that shows who tracked what, grouped by task, by member, or as a chronological journal, with filters by period and member. Totals for tracked time, billable time, and amount sit at the top.

Time entries can now be marked as billable. Set an hourly rate and the cost is calculated in real time in your space's currency. Members see their own entries; owners and managers see the whole team. A running timer on a task is visible to everyone who opens it.

Share tasks and documents by link (Beta)

You can now share a task or a document with people who aren't in your space, or don't have a Vaiz account at all. Choose Share in the task or document menu, copy the link, and send it. Recipients get a read-only view of just that item, with no access to the rest of your space. Turn the link off at any time and it stops working immediately.

Sign in with Apple

Apple joins Google and GitHub as a sign-in option on the web and in the iOS app, including support for Hide My Email. If you already have a Vaiz account with the same email, signing in with Apple takes you straight into it, no duplicate account created.

Bug fixes and improvements

• Invites. The Invite button is now always available in the assignee picker, and the invite banner in the sidebar stays visible. When a Free plan reaches its member limit, the space owner is taken to Billing and other members see a short notice.
• Custom fields. Field name, description, and visibility are now edited directly in the board settings list, without a separate dialog.
• Calendar. Optional color coding by task type. Turn it on from the View menu to tint calendar cards with their type's color.
• Smart List. Columns now fill the full width of the screen instead of leaving empty space on the right, and manual column resizing keeps its width when the window or column set changes.
• Various polish across Smart List, time tracking and sign-in.
