How to Set Roles and Permissions in Vaiz
Managing roles and permissions in Vaiz helps you keep collaboration organized. In this guide, you’ll learn how to assign roles and adjust access for team members and groups.
Step 1: Open the Team Section
In the top-left corner, click your space name to open the dropdown menu.
Make sure the correct space is selected, then click Team. The Members tab will open by default, showing all current members.

Step 2: Review the Available Roles
When inviting a new member or editing an existing member’s settings, you can assign one of the following roles:
- Owner – full access to all workspace features and settings.
- Manager – can manage projects, boards, and team members.
- Member – can view and edit content in assigned projects.
- Guest – limited access to specific shared items only.

Step 3: Assign or Change a Member’s Role
In the Members tab, find the member whose role you want to change.
In the Space Role column, click the dropdown menu.
Select the desired role from the list.
Changes are applied immediately — no need to save.

Note: You can also change a member’s role by clicking Manage and updating the role in the window that opens.
After selecting a new role, click Save changes.

Step 4: Limit Project Access with Groups
In Vaiz, roles are set at the workspace level and apply to all projects within that workspace. If you need to limit access to certain projects, you can:

At the Team tab switch to the Groups tab at the top.

Click Add Group (or select an existing one) and add only the members who should have access.

Use the Access Role dropdown on the right to set the group’s role.

Share the project with this group only.
Changing a group’s role will automatically update the role of every member in that group (unless they have individual overrides).
