How to manage account security in Vaiz


In this guide, you’ll learn how to change your password, set up passkeys for faster and more secure sign-ins, and enable two-factor authentication (2FA) in Vaiz to add an extra layer of protection to your account.

Step 1. Open security settings

Click on your profile icon in the top-right corner of the screen. Select Settings from the dropdown menu.

In the settings window, switch to the Security tab at the top.

Here, you’ll find all the options related to account protection, including password and passkey management.
Note: You can also manage your email and phone number in the Personal tab next to it.

Step 2. Change your password

  1. In the Password section, enter your current password.
  2. Type your new password in the New field.
  3. Re-enter it in the Confirm field to verify.
  4. Click “Change Password” to save your new credentials.

After saving, your password will be updated immediately, and you’ll need to use the new one the next time you log in.

Step 3. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA)

To make your account more secure, you can set up two-factor authentication.

  1. In the Two-Factor Authentication section, click “Setup 2FA”.

Note: As soon as you click the button, you'll receive a security email notifying you about the 2FA setup attempt. If it was you, just continue with the setup; if not, follow the email instructions to secure your account.

2. In the window that opens, review the information about two-factor authentication and click “Secure your account” to proceed.

3. A window with a QR code and a text setup key will appear.

4. Open your authenticator app (e.g. Google Authenticator, Authy, Microsoft Authenticator).

5. Scan the QR code with the app, or use the text key below it to add the account manually.

6. Enter the six-digit code from the app into the Code field and click “Proceed”.

Note: The QR and one-time codes refresh every few seconds, so complete this step promptly.

7. On the Recovery Codes screen, copy or download the codes and store them in a safe place. Check “I have saved the codes in a secure place”, then click “Continue”.

8. On the confirmation screen, click “Finish” to return to Security settings. Two-factor authentication is now enabled for your account.

Note: To disable 2FA later, click the red “Disable” button next to Authenticator app and confirm by entering a new code from your authenticator app.

Step 4. Set up passkeys

Passkeys allow you to enhance account security by using biometric authentication or security keys instead of passwords.

  1. In the Passkeys section, click “Create”.

2. Enter a name for your passkey to identify it later and click “Done”.

3. In the system window that appears, review the information and click Continue.

Note: Once the passkey is created, it will appear in the list with the creation date.

4. To rename a passkey, click the three dots next to it, select Edit name.

Then update the name and confirm.

5. To delete a passkey, open the same menu, choose Remove passkey, and confirm the action in the dialog window.
