How to use search in Vaiz
Search in Vaiz helps you find items across the current space without opening each project one by one. You can use it to look for tasks, documents, boards, milestones, comments, users, and projects.
Step 1. Open search
In the top-left corner, choose the space where you want to search.

Then in the top-right corner click the search icon.

Note. You can also open search with hotkeys:
- on Mac – Shift + Control + S,
- on Windows – Alt + Ctrl + S.
This opens global search for the current space and shows only the items you have access to.

Step 2. Use global search
To start searching, type any details you know into the search field. For example, this can be a word, a phrase, or a task ID.

Search is designed to be flexible, so it can return results not only for exact matches, but also for individual words and close matches if your query includes a small typo.

Results are grouped by entity type, including Tasks, Documents, Milestones, Comments, Boards, Users, and Projects, so you can quickly understand where the match appears and open the right item faster.

Note: each group shows up to 10 results. If you need to see the full list, it is better to use board filters instead. You can learn more about this in the article about board customization.

Step 3. Narrow results with filters
To narrow the results, open the search panel and click Filter.

There, you can limit search results by:
- Documents
- Tasks
- Users
- Projects
- Milestones
- Comments
- Boards
- Search in archive
For example, if you only want to find tasks, turn on Tasks and leave the other filters off. Or, if you remember leaving a comment but do not remember where, filter by Comments and type a few words from it.

Pay attention to the Filter button while searching. When at least one filter is active, the button is highlighted in blue.

When no filters are applied, it stays gray.

If you cannot find something but are sure it exists, first check whether any filters are still turned on.
To remove all active filters, open the filter menu and click Clear filters.

Conclusion
With search, you can quickly jump to the right task, document, board, or milestone without digging through the whole space manually.
Use filters when you want to narrow the results, clear them if something seems missing, and switch to board filters when you need the full list of matching tasks.
